Transportation and Air Quality Services
A.D. Marble & Company offers comprehensive traffic noise support services for transportation initiatives. Our experienced staff is adept at providing:
- Identification of project area noise-sensitive land use and preparation of Noise Monitoring Work Plans;
- Traffic noise monitoring to support detailed traffic noise model development;
- Traffic noise modeling (using FHWA’s TNM model) to establish existing worst-case, future “no-build,” and future “build” scenario traffic noise levels;
- Screening of project areas to establish if sound barrier investigation is warranted, feasible, and reasonable as stipulated under 23 CFR Part 772 and state guidance documents;
- Detailed mitigation analysis to establish the acoustical profile (requisite height and length) of sound barriers that pass the state/federal screening criteria;
- Public outreach support through all project phases, including public presentations and development of support graphics.
Additionally, A.D. Marble & Company provides project-level transportation air-quality support services for transportation projects, including:
- Project-level screening to determine project exemptions/eligibility for detailed project-level analysis;
- Qualitative air-quality assessments for pollutants of concern, including PM2.5 and MSATs analyses;
- Quantitative micro-scale “hot-spot” analyses for criteria pollutants using the EPA’s MOBILE and CAL3QHC emissions and dispersion models or alternative methodologies as approved by EPA and FHWA;
- Documentation of regional conformity;
- Public outreach support through all project phases.
General Acoustical Services
A.D. Marble & Company offers acoustical evaluations for a variety of private sector interests. These projects encompass but are not limited to industrial/commercial noise permits, facility emissions inventories, and/or development of abatement strategies to minimize noise pollution. Noise monitoring and modeling is typically employed in support of these analyses.
Air Quality Permitting
A.D. Marble & Company is also capable of assisting with private-sector air quality permitting. These activities typically require emissions inventories and/or projections for criteria pollutants in order to satisfy the regulatory requirements for permit acquisition.
